How to Make:

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
  2. Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and cook for 5-8 minutes or until softened but not coloured. Add the tomatoes, allspice and cayenne pepper, increase heat to medium-high and cook for 5 minutes or until all the liquid has just evaporated. Remove the mixture from heat and cool to room temperature.
  3. Meanwhile, spread pine nuts over a baking tray and toast in preheated oven for 5-8 minutes or until golden.
  4. Combine tomato mixture, pine nuts and mince in a bowl, season well with salt and pepper and mix thoroughly.
  5. Place Souvlakia bread on a baking tray then spread evenly with the mince mixture leaving about a l cm border. Bake in preheated Oven for 20-25 minutes or until mince is cooked through and bread edges are crisp.
  6. Transfer to a serving plate, sprinkle with parsley and drizzle with the yoghurt. Cut into wedges and serve immediately.

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium brown onion, finely chopped
  • 3 ripe tomatoes, coarsely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • Pinch cayenne pepper, or to taste
  • 40g (1/4 cup) pine nuts
  • 500g lean lamb mince or beef mince
  • Salt & ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 Lebanese bread round
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
  • 80ml (1/3 cup) Tamar Valley Greek Style Yoghurt
